McCullough’s Tree Service is seeking a Plant Health Care Specialist for its 2026 season (April-November). As a Plant Health Care Specialist, you will be responsible for deep root tree fertilization, foliage application of fungicide, tree injection and vegetation control on commercial and residential properties.

 

Key Responsibilities

• Execute all functions of an integrated pest management program including administration, scheduling, inspections, sampling, treatments and record keeping

• Perform plant health care services including deep root fertilization, foliage applications of fungicide, tree injections and vegetation control

• Monitor, diagnose and treat insect, disease and cultural conditions affecting trees and shrubs

• Safely operate, calibrate and maintain equipment and tools

• Maintain accurate service records, reports and application documentation

• Communicate professionally with customers regarding findings, treatments and recommendations

• Uphold all safety, environmental and regulatory requirements

Required Qualifications

• Valid Ohio driver’s license and clean motor vehicle record

• Commercial Pesticide Applicator License

• 1–3 years of experience working in a plant health care or green industry environment

• Strong understanding of species-specific insects, diseases, and cultural care practices

• Ability to perform physically demanding labor and work outdoors in varying weather conditions

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Comfortable working independently in the field while contributing to a professional, team-oriented organization

Preferred / Bonus Qualifications​

• ISA Arborist Certification

• Degree in Arboriculture, Forestry, Horticulture, Plant Science, Landscape Management, or a related field
